Pennyrile Counties Receive Opportunity Zone Designation

Gov. Bevin announced on April 9, 2018 the U.S. Department of the Treasury certified 144 Opportunity Zones in 84 Kentucky counties under a program in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 that aims to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide. DLG Staff Visit Koppers Industries in Guthrie

Staff from the Department for Local Government conducted a site visit to Koppers Industries in Guthrie today. DLG provided Community Development Block Grant funding to install a natural gas line to serve the industry. Groundbreaking for Trenton Volunteer Fire Department Building

The City of Trenton hosted a groundbreaking today for the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department building project. With assistances from the Pennyrile Area Development District the Fire Department project is funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Todd County Receives Community Development Block Grant Funding
