PeADD Announces Over $1 Million Investment from DRA for Regional Development Projects
HOPKINSVILLE, KY, October 23, 2024 – Pennyrile Area Development District (PeADD) is pleased to announce that the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, has recently invested over $1 million toward three projects in the Pennyrile region through its States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP).
This coordinated effort focuses on enhancing basic public infrastructure, transportation, business development, and job training across the region. This year, three projects in the Pennyrile were selected to receive SEDAP funding, with a total investment of over $1 million.
“As a result of this investment,” stated PeADD Executive Director, Jason Vincent, “these communities will experience positive impacts, enhancing residents' quality of life and driving greater economic growth throughout the region.” Mr. Vincent continued stating that PeADD staff worked in coordination with each of these communities to gain these funds in support of the Pennyrile region.
SEDAP award recipients in the Pennyrile region include:
City of Hanson was awarded more than $190,000 for a waterline project that will position the community for ongoing growth in business development, industry attractiveness, and economic opportunities such as new jobs and additional revenue sources.
Crittenden-Livingston Water District was awarded $408,000 to support a water treatment plant expansion project that will allow for the construction of an additional clear well for the purposes of increasing storage capacity and water supply and alleviating a water shortage crisis.
Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville was awarded more than $485,000 to upgrade and replace medical equipment within the facility to provide better quality of care and services to its patients.
