March 2020 PADD Board of Directors Meeting

The PADD Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the PADD Office in Hopkinsville, KY. Federal and State Reports were provided by Morgan Alvey (Sen. McConnell); Amelia Wilson (Cong. Comer); and Jason Hasert (Sen. Paul). Amy Frogue, PADD Associate Director for CED, gave a presentation overview of Delta Regional Authority and Homeland Security Funding Opportunities. Jill Collins, Director for Pennyrile AAAIL, provided an update on Aging activities and recognized all Social Work staff members in observance of this month’s nation-wide celebration “Social Workers: Generations Strong”. Sheila Clark, WKWB Executive Director, provided an update on workforce activities. Workforce staff members Julie Allen and Molly Deahl gave an update on job fairs and rapid response activities for dislocated workers in our region. Amanda Sweeney, CCHD, provided an update on state and local efforts concerning the Coronavirus. Guest Speaker, Judge Rene’ Williams, Chief Regional Circuit Judge, 5th Circuit, Division 1, presented information on the purpose, importance, and many benefits of Drug Court, an alternative to incarceration. John Mahre, PADD Transportation Committee Chair, extended an invitation to attend the KBT Rally at the Capitol in Frankfort on March 10 at 1:00 p.m. to show support for HB580. Jason Vincent, PADD Executive Director, welcomed new PADD Board member, Mayor Wendell Lynch, City of Hopkinsville and recognized all PADD staff on the recent Quality Service Award presented to Pennyrile ADD at the Christian County Chamber of Commerce 2020 Compass Awards.
