PADD Board of Directors April 2018 Monthly Meeting
The PADD Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on Monday, June 9, 2018 at the PADD Office in Hopkinsville, KY. Ms. Heather Lancaster, Executive Director, Sanctuary, Inc. presented a proclamation declaring the month of April 2018 as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. County Judge Executives in attendance signed the proclamation. Federal, state and PADD staff reports were provided. State Representative Melinda Gibbons Prunty stated it has been a busy and challenging time for legislators in regards to the budget and pension reform with work still ahead of them. Mr. Luke King, Director of Constituent Services for Congressman James Comer, stated he is here today with representatives from the Taxpayer Advocate Service to assist anyone with tax questions or issues with the IRS related to refunds, errors, payments, etc. A LUCA update and 2017 Census estimates were provided by PADD staff Kyle Cunningham, Infrastructure Coordinator and Paige Carlisle, GIS Specialist. Ms. Carlisle stated LUCA (Local Update of Census Addresses) is a program to allow local government to review the address list for accuracy and the PADD GIS department can assist you with this process. Mr. Cunningham stated the 2017 Census estimates were released in March and includes data through July 1st of the previous year. Census is a very important element as it determines funds received from the State. Census Day is April 1, 2020. Guest speaker Ms. Hilda Legg, State Director of Kentucky, USDA Rural Development shared the importance of partnering with local rural development to accomplish our goals for economic development in Kentucky and rural America.
