PADD Board of Directors March Monthly Meeting
The PADD Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on Monday, March 14th at the PADD Office in Hopkinsville, KY. Mr. Warren Beeler, Executive Director, Governor's Office of Ag Policy, was the guest speaker. Mr. Beeler shared information on trends in agriculture, livestock farming, crop farming, HB 611, county and state funding, Ag financial corporation KAFC, tobacco settlement funds, and the important issue of the need for young farmers to further the future of agriculture. Mr. Beeler stated agriculture is producing more with less with the most efficient use of resources ever in history. Staff reports were also provided by Community & Economic Development and West KY Workforce. Jason Vincent, PADD Executive Director, reported legislation regarding the Area Development Districts (HB 438) passed the House Standing Committee on State Government and will move forward to the House floor later this week. Reappointments to the Pennyrile Development & Governmental Center, Inc. were presented and approved by the Board.
