2010 Summer Works

If you are 18 – 21, low income (or have not worked in the last six months) and in need of help to find a good
career, then you might be eligible to enroll in one of these unique training programs. Receive wages
while you gain the skills for good jobs or continued education in the Certified Nurse Aid, welding, refrigeration/maintenance or
mining industries leading to a great career!

Hopkinsville Community College:

Madisonville Community College:

West Kentucky Community and Technical College
  • Career Readiness, OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid with work experience after training.
  • Classes held at the Skilled Craft Training Center in Graves County.

As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), the West Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (WKWIB)
was awarded $1,716,182.56 in federal stimulus funds to support the Summer Works program.
