As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), the West Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (WKWIB) was awarded $1,716,182.56 in federal stimulus funds to support the Summer Works program.

The program was a tremendous success: 513 program participants ages 18-24 were provided the opportunity to gain work readiness skills.  73% of the participants in the Purchase and Pennyrile completed the program with an individual goal attainment level of 82%.  Over $1.2M was directly invested in the 17 county area.
